How your data is handled when you use the Startup Evaluation or the Guided Interview. The Adherence Survey has its own consent shown on that form.
This tool is operated by Ali, a master's candidate at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), as part of a thesis project. For any data-protection request you can contact eliyaabddullah@gmail.com. Data-protection questions can also be directed to TUHH's data protection officer at datenschutz@tuhh.de (external DPO: datenschutz nord GmbH, office@datenschutz-nord.de).
We process the information you enter, including any name you give and any document you upload, for two purposes, each on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and Art. 9(2)(a) for any special-category data that may appear):
1. Research (required to take part). To carry out the master's thesis research described above.
2. Product development (optional). Only if you separately opt in, to further develop this evaluation tool, including in connection with an associated investment fund. You can take part without agreeing to this, and declining has no disadvantage.
The text you submit is analysed by an AI provider (Anthropic, USA) solely to generate your evaluation, and may therefore be processed on servers outside the EU. Such transfers rely on the provider's EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Within the project, your data may be accessed by the researcher, the thesis supervisor and TUHH, and the research partner AI.FUND, for the research described above.
Apart from these, your data is not sold and is not shared with any other third party: not with other investors, not for advertising, and not for any purpose beyond this research (and, only if you separately opt in, the product development described above).
The evaluation produces an AI-generated score based on the content of the document or interview. It has no legal or similarly significant effect on you, and results are reviewed by the researcher.
Your data is kept until the thesis is completed and graded, after which it is deleted or anonymised (unless you withdraw earlier).
You may withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out) and request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability by emailing eliyaabddullah@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hamburg supervisory authority (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, HmbBfDI).
Providing your data is voluntary. You can take part without giving your name. If you upload a document that contains other people's personal data, please confirm you are entitled to share it and remove any special-category data (e.g. health, religion, ethnicity) before uploading.
